ABOUT MY APPROACH

Meet Angela (she/her)

Angela's draws from Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy. This is an approach that focuses on healing from past emotional wounds, self-growth, and creating a sense of secure relationship within yourself and with others.

Angela also practices Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This is an approach that focuses on accepting what is out of your personal control, learning skills to handle difficult thoughts and feelings more effectively, and taking actions that align with your values and what matters to you most.

Angela has experience and has also practiced:

Solution Focused Therapy - a short-term, goal-oriented approach that focuses on exploring and building upon your strengths and resources to find solutions to the issues you share;

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - a short-term, goal-oriented approach that focuses on the intertwining relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, how certain ways of thinking and behaviour may reinforce issues in your life, and learning ways to evaluate thinking and change behaviour to feel better;

Motivational Interviewing - an approach that may help increase motivation to work towards changes you want to make in your life - such as creating a therapeutic space where you don’t feel judged so that you may be able to share openly and authentically, or reflecting on your values to help highlight and reinforce why it is important to you to work towards making change.

Angela may use a combination of evidenced-based approaches  to create a treatment plan that best suits the unique needs and goals of her clients.
